It was past 7pm, friday, when Juanito Perez was asked by his superiors to extend his shift for the entire weekend; manpower was scarce and the project had to be delivered on schedule. Security guards of the office building noted that there were no logs of Juanito ever coming out of the building since friday. His coworkers also saw him working well past the hour of nine. Initial investigations ruled out that he died of exhaustion and that no foul play was involved.
"He is usually the first person to volunteer when the company needs extra hands for work." A coworker noted.
His coworkers and friends at the office are still shocked and bewildered at what happened. "He is usually the first person to volunteer when the company needs extra hands for work." A coworker noted. The company has expressed their deepest condolences towards the bereaved family, but Juanito's family refused to accept their sympathies. "Our deepest regrets? That's all you can say? Sino ang bubuhay sa amin ngayon? Sino na ang magtataguyod sa pamilya namin?" Juanito's mother voiced out. "He is the sole bread winner of the family!"

Juanito is not the first person to die of exhaustion due to long working hours. In 2011, the death of a young chinese woman, made an uproar all over the internet when it was revealed that her death was due over exhaustion at work. Juanito Perez is survived by his son, mother and 4 siblings.
So sad. :(
